Beiersdorf recognised for sustainability progress

Beiersdorf has been awarded the “Triple A” accolade by the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) in recognition for its progress towards sustainability commitments.

The CDP is a global non-profit organisation which seeks to motivate companies to disclose their environmental impact and to foster corporate social responsibility for sustainability efforts. The CDP collects data on parameters measuring a firm’s impact on climate change and greenhouse gas emissions, forests and water security, then forming a rating on their performance.

In 2022, nearly 20,000 firms disclosed data globally and Beiersdorf is one of only twelve companies to receive the Triple A rating, solidifying the company’s position as leader in sustainability.

The Hamburg-based company has been recognised for its leadership in target setting, performance and transparency in the areas of climate change, forests and water security. Beiersdorf boasts an extensive portfolio, with beauty brands including Nivea, Eucerin and Chantecaille.

Beiersdorf boasts a 12.7% reduction in its emissions and all of its production sites solely use electricity generated entirely from renewable sources.

Beiersdorf has also been recognised for its ambitious targets;  the company aims to achieve climate-neutral operations by 2030.

Beiersdorf CEO Vincent Warnery says: “We have made great efforts around the globe over the past years to drive the transformation of our business. CDP’s Triple A rating is a tribute to our efforts to become leading in our industry in environmental sustainability, not only in ambitious target setting, but also in taking action and being transparent”.
